Using plaster as their only medium, students were instructed to create an object (or series of objects) inspired by one of the following artists: Rachel Whiteread, Barbara Hepworth, Tony Cragg, or Constantin Brancusi. They also had to incorporate both casting and carving into their piece, resulting in an assortment of approaches to the concept of volume.
